Saving Animals & Finding Homes

 June 11,2020

The response from our community has been overwhelming and we have been struggling to get back to everyone. So at this time we have made the tough decision to stop any intake of surrenders due to the lack of volunteers.

Losing our marketing coordinator so abruptly has hindered our ability to keep up with the time commitment necessary to run the rescue. After the newspaper article we have so many people come forward to offer foster homes, be drivers and offer donations….this has been amazing however we have struggled significantly to try and get back to everyone by email, phone and FB due to the overwhelming response.  Without dedicated volunteers to help share the responsibilities (to mention a few): responding to a high volume of inquires, assistance with fundraising, advertising our cats up for adoption, meet and greets, screening fosters, screening adoptive homes & drivers, coordinating vet visits, this makes things makes things challenging when I am already running several businesses. With the additional challenges and delays that have affected my industry, without other dedicated volunteers its impossible for me to keep up with the time commitment required to run the rescue. We currently have 5 cats left in foster care which we just have enough funds left in our “Hearts4Paw’s Angel Fund” to cover their medical expenses. They will be adopted out as soon as they are ready.

Thanks for supporting our rescue.

 About us:
Hearts 4 Paws is a non-profit cat, foster based rescue in Stratford, Ontario focusing primarily on Senior cats. We are 100% volunteer run. Our love for animals inspires us to provide help rehoming cats in emergency surrender situations – in particular, senior cats at risk of being euthanized due to impending homelessness. Many of whom have come to us due to an owner’s declining health, move to a long term care facility or passing.

Over the past year we have taken in over 55 cats and adopted out 52, mostly senior cats and have many others waiting for their forever homes. We are partnered with Stratford’s one and only Alley Cat Café and Feedall Pet Center where several of our cats where successfully adopted out to their forever homes.

All the cats that come through our care receive a Vet Wellness Examination, Up to Date vaccines, and additional Medical Care or Spay/Neuter if required. Our small adoption fees unfortunately do not cover all of our expenses. We have no government funding so the rescue’s funding primarily comes from my small Mortgage business, Czartorynskyj Capital Inc., were a portion of the annual revenue has been donated to Hearts4Paws Rescue’s Angel Fund.
Many of the cats are coming from loving homes, but have received little to no vet care as well as no vaccines.

Rehoming:
If you need to rehome a pet please post it on our FB Group Stratford Animal Community Support Group

This group was established since 2010 and has lots of resources and has helped many people rehome their pets.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

Hearts4Paws Animal Rescue works to ensure that no cat becomes homeless as a result of an emergency experienced by its owner. Sudden hospitalization, a move to long-term care, or any other life crisis can mean that a cat may no longer be cared for in the home he / she has known and loved. Sometimes, especially in the case of a senior cat, the cat might be at risk of euthanization because it can be difficult to find a new forever home. Hearts4Paws intervenes in such cases, fostering and rehoming cats in emergency surrender situations.
